Folder

A folder serves as the container for a group of related remote desktop connection definitions.  Folders may also contain sub-folders to allow for hierarchical organization of connections.

Folders have the following properties on the Folder tab:

Friendly Name: This is the name of the folder as it appears in the tree.

Connection Defaults (various):  Folders have defaults that can be applied to connections created in them.  Additionally, if a default is not defined they can be inherited from a higher level folder.  The following are the defaults for new connections.  The defaults for connections are documented here.

Additionally you can use the Mass Update tab to make changes to the connection in the current folder (and optionally subfolders) in a single update action.  To enable an option for update check the box immediately following the option name and then provide a value in the next input control.

Press Save to update the database with your settings and click Connect to immediately establish a session with the remote desktop host.

When you right-click on a folder node you are presented with the following menu options:

Refresh

Add New Folder...

Delete

Edit

Connect All

Connect All (Recursive)

Disconnect All

Disconnect All (Recursive)

Refresh

This refreshes the favorite details from the database and reloads the URL.

Add New Folder...

Once you click on the Add New Folder... option, you will be asked to enter the folder name to define a new folder entry.  Afterwards you may create new connections in the folder.

Delete

Removes the folder from the database.  If the folder contains connection definitions or sub-folders, they are removed as well.  If the connections being removed are open when removed they remain open on the server but are just not connected on the client.  Therefore, it is recommended that you close your connections before removing them.

Edit

Displays the editor control for the folder name and provides tools for applying connection settings to all connection in the folder and optionally subfolders.

On the Folder tab you can change the name of the folder as long as the new name is unique within the parent folder.  Ensure that you press Save after making any changes.

On the Connections tab you can changed the attributes of all connection in the folder and optionally subfolders.  Note that there is an extra check box preceding every value.  If the box is checked whatever value you enter will be applied to all child connections.  If the box is not checked on child connections will retain their current value.  Ensure that you press Update Connections to apply changes to all child connections.

Connect All

Attempts to establish a connection for all connection nodes in the target folder where a connection is not already open.  An option exists to recursively connect sessions in child folders.

Disconnect All

Disconnects all established connections for all connection nodes in the target folder that are already open.  An option exists to recursively disconnect sessions in child folders.
