Images

The Image module is used to upload and display images that can be shared with other users.

This module functions within the standard role-based security inheritance chain described in the tab designer topic.  Administrative users can configure additional module settings by clicking the  button.

Viewing Images

All users with Read permissions on the tab have the ability to view the image.

NOTE: Not all browsers are capable of displaying all image types.  Typically files with the following extensions are viewable by major browsers: .GIF, .BMP, .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG

Managing Images

Users with Edit permissions on the tab can click the  button to open the image editor.  Be sure to click the  button to save your changes when adding or editing content.  Users with Delete permissions on the tab can click the  button to remove the image from the system.

The following attributes are available in the editor:

Type (Required): This indicates where the image file is stored and access from

Upload to File System: This option (which is only available to Site Administrators) allows for load of files to the ~/Uploads folder and makes it accessible to anyone that knows the URL.

Upload to Database: This option stores the file in the database and protects it from being seen by unauthorized users.

Specify Image URL: This option does not store the file in the system at all and instead only references the content on an external site.

Location (Required): This is either the URL or the document to upload from the local file system as determined by the Type.

Width: (Optional). The width of the image in pixels if the image should be constrained.  A blank value will allow the image to auto-size width.

Height: (Optional). The height of the image in pixels if the image should be constrained.  A blank value will allow the image to auto-size height.

Display: Two display options are available for the image that is uploaded.

Center Image: This option positions the image in the middle of the module.

Stretch Image: This option will stretch the image both vertically and horizontally making both the image and the module bigger in size.

Caption: A title or brief explanation regarding the uploaded image.
